I would like to thank Master Jo, and the entire Toma family for giving my 5 year old daughter confidence and the joy of learning Martial Arts. I have tried many extracurricular activities with her, and the Toma experience was what she enjoyed most. Just from watching her grow and improve through each class, I decided that it was something that I wanted to do for myself, so enrolled in the adult classes…I enjoy taking on new challenges and look forward to pursuing this new endeavor. Karen, and the instructors, are very professional and kind. Master Jo is very encouraging and always provides words of wisdom each class. As a teacher, I love that he is an excellent role model for young people. He teaches them respect, leadership, responsibility, as well as other valuable lessons. Thank you all for this amazing new experience for both my daughter and myself. This is an incredible school and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn Martial Arts!!

TOMA has been nothing short of a gift to my son and my family. There are so many schools that can teach a student how to punch or kick, but it is TOMA that teaches that child how to carry themselves with honor, respect and confidence while doing it. I am honored to be part of this school and have been mesmerized watching my son mature both physically and emotionally since being under Master Jo’s instruction.

I can’t even begin to explain how much Elite Toma Martial Arts has impacted my life. I started here almost 9 years ago as a shy little kid with no confidence or self control. I was afraid to talk to people and always wanted to be by myself. I have learned over the years how to break out of my shell and grow not mentally, but physically as well. Master Jo teaches his students that martial arts is not just about kicking and punching, but it is a way of life. I have gained more confidence in myself and learned how to become the person I want to be by leading myself and others. Elite Toma is my second family and I don’t know where I would be without Master Jo and all of the amazing staff members.

I have no idea of how to start this review because of all the positive experiences I’ve had here are simply some of the greatest ones I’ve had and will have in my entire life. All I can say is that this is the place where I have grown the most. I have come here for 8 years now and I can honestly say that this school has been an extremely beneficial part of my life. When I was a little kid I could not control myself; I was probably the most shy little boy on the playground and coming here has changed everything about me. In school I was never able to focus because I moved around too much and I did not want to listen to the teachers. No matter what anybody did I was still unable to pay attention to what was going on in class. When I joined Elite TOMA in 2005 I saw an immediate difference in my school work and in my attitude towards others. Even on the first day of class I learned about respecting others. I learned that doing this will help you succeed in life in unimaginable ways. I learned how to control myself and how to focus on more important things than just playing video games all day and night. Throughout my life I have used all of these lessons and I have been very successful in and out of school. Without them I would not be where I am today. I would have become a couch potato that wouldn’t want to go outside or even to school. Instead, today I am a senior in high school with many accomplishments under my belt. I love coming here everyday and it is a pleasure coming here. Everybody here is like family to me and that includes Master Jo.

I’ve been here for almost ten years and I cannot express how much this place has impacted me. Master Jo is a one of a kind human being, someone who has taught me beyond kicks and punches. I have become such a passionate and motivated person because of the values I have been taught here. Not to mention I have made lifetime best friends who I can safely say are some of the most incredible people I have ever met.

I have studied traditional martial arts at Elite TOMA for nine years, and I can’t say enough good things about the program and especially about Master Jo. You couldn’t ask for a more highly skilled, intelligent and caring instructor. Master Jo grew up and trained under Grand Masters in South Korea and he passes down to us not only traditional Taekwondo techniques but many other forms of martial arts, such as Hapkido and Judo. In addition to excellent fighting and self-defense training, Master Jo also instills in each student values like respect, having good moral character and making the right decisions in life. At the end of each of the childrens’ class they sit down around him and he talks to them like a father or a mentor, about things like being responsible and reliable. As a result, they do better in school and at home. The program is very well organized; each student works at his/her own pace getting both individual attention as well as working together with a friendly, positive-attitude group. This is the best martial arts school in New Jersey for both adults and children and I am very fortunate to be a part of it!

That’s what I thought before I started training with Master Jo. As a mother of a high school aged teenager, I am very aware of the challenges our children face such as drugs, alcohol, bullying, suicide, and many other negative influences that as parents, we don’t even want to think about. With the help of Elite TOMA and Master Jo, my son is turning out to be everything I had hoped for and more. I have other TOMA members that approach me to let me know how respectful, helpful and nice my son is. They actually seek out my son to ask him to talk to their young child when they are having difficulties with their child being respectful and responsible. That makes me feel very proud of my son, and his positive attitude continues at home. I can honestly say that I know that Master Jo and Elite TOMA were (and still are) a huge part of why my son is and will continue to be a productive member of society; and that is what we all want for our children.

The time, money, sweat and hard work that I have put into my training the past 5 years has led to my achieving first degree black belt. Elite Toma has genuinely changed my life! I started my journey here as a 6 year old with my mom, who was looking for something we could do together while also hopefully improving my focus both in and out of school. Needless to say, 15 years later, it is a decision I am eternally grateful for! As a child, I struggled both in school and with my attitude at home. Elite Toma has guided me through those many struggles; teaching me patience, discipline, integrity, perseverance, focus, social skills, and how to be a leader in every aspect of my life. Elite Toma is the best place for a child to grow up. When I was younger I had no control over myself, I constantly lashed out at people, and I constantly back talked to my parents. When I was invited to Elite Toma my whole life changed for the better. Slowly but surely I saw a change in myself. I became more friendly and considerate while also learning how to defend myself from bullies. I no longer had trouble with my own confidence allowing me to grow in new ways. This growth made it so that I can respect others through discipline and patience. If you want to learn martial arts the right way, Elite Toma is your best choice because its not like every other martial arts school that you find. Its a way of life and I would recommend it to everyone.

Having been a student at elite toma for 5 years, I can say without a doubt that elite toma is the best martial arts school that one could ask for. I was a student at a different TKD school, and my experiences were far from beneficial. Master Jo has not only improved my physical condition, but has also shaped my mentality throughout the years. Master Jo one hundred percent cares about each of his students, and makes you feel as if you’re part of a family. This dojang does not only offer a place to get fit and participate in a great form of exercise and way of life, but also offers a second home.

Master Jo, is not only an amazing Martial Artist, super lethal in its efficiency but he is also a super motivator and an amazing leader. Under his guidance I was able to reach the level of 1st degree Black Belt and I can only say that it is thanks to him that I reached this level. I was on the verge of quitting quite a few times over the years because I was not progressing properly, fast enough or what ever (excuses are easy to find) and the frustration was sometimes difficult to overcome. But there was always a part of me that did not want to disappoint him. I felt that if I quit I would be kind of cheating on his amazing patience over the years, his talent, his energy and his encouragements. So I kept training and finally I passed the test.
Master Jo Today is not only my mentor but I also feel blessed to have him as a friend.

This school has helped me develop so much into a confident and effective adult, I started my experience at TOMA when I was Middle School, now I am in college. Every moment you spend at TOMA is something worth remembering and such a key part in your life when you join. I highly recommend this to parent so you can teach your kids the positive life lessons that a important in there development!

My daughter has been coming to TOMA for the last 18 months. She is 4 years old and in the Leadership program. She has developed confidence and is quite focused. Master Jo and the instructors are all very motivational and patient with her. They have become such a strong influence in her life.
